"I became a sculptor by coincidence. I wanted to study painting but for some reason (perhaps I was a bad painter!) when I was at school I ended up in a sculpture class. So at the beginning I was frustrated, I felt rebellious towards my teachers. But then I started to think what sculpture could be. On the other hand I realized that I was interested in daily life objects. All the materials that surrounded me could be useful in making a piece of art. Für den Kunstraum Innsbruck entwickelte der österreichische Künstler Erwin Wurm eine in-situ Arbeit. Vor Ort transformierte er diverse Gebrauchsgegenstände in der Manier seiner “one-minute-sculptures“ zu Kunstobjekten.
