MONSTER CHETWYND

Monster Chetwynd (b. 1973, London) is one of the most unconventional voices in contemporary art. Her practice represents a radical rejection of sterile, glossy aesthetics and conventional authorship; instead, she cultivates an organic, collective, and deliberately amateurish universe. In her world, performance, sculpture, installation, and costume merge into a total work of art that draws equally on antiquity, pop culture, and B-movies as well as on the subversive practices of the 1960s.
