Ivana Marjanović

Dr. Ivana Marjanović - Director of KUNSTRAUM INNSBRUCK 

Since 2005 Ivana Marjanović has been active as an art historian, researcher, curator, author and cultural producer particularly in the field of contemporary art and culture. She is the author of QueerBeograd Cabaret. A Shared Space between Queer, Anti-Facism and No Border Politics (transcript Verlag, 2024).

Ivana Marjanović was born in Belgrade and completed her degree in art history in 2005. In 2017 she was awarded her doctorate from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She has conceptualized and organized numerous art projects and publications. In 2006, together with Vida Knezević, she founded the Belgrade Art Space Kontekst Galerija, which she directed until 2009. In 2008, she served as curatorial assistant with Vida Knezević for the artistic director Bojana Pejić of the 49th October Salon—the largest and most prestigious international exhibition for contemporary art in Serbia with around 100 local and international artists. From 2016 to 2018, together with Nataša Mackuljak, Ivana Marjanović co-directed and managed the international and transcultural Viennese art and cultural festival Wienwoche. Since 2019 she has been part of the editing team for the transnational online magazine Migrazine – an online magazine by women* migrants for everyone (migrazine.at). She has been the artistic director and head manager of KUNSTRAUM INNSBRUCK since 2019.
