the Unit |

 |
|
Modular
Architecture - the Unit is a hybrid form- an architecture-
garment for 10 people to wear, experience and transform into
a
collective body interaction. It can be worn both in the
more
private sphere of exhibition space and in the public space of
the
city. |

| Act
III, 70 x 7, The Meal |
|
* |
|
This
is the third part in a series of actions that is concerned
with the unresolved situation of food surplus and the
inequality
regarding its redistribution. Act III, 70 x 7, The Meal, stages
a
series of meals at the Kunstraum Innsbruck. The first meal
will
take place at the Kunstraum on Saturday 12th of February at
noon.
It consists of inviting 14 people to attend a dinner. Of
these
original guests, 7 are given the option (obligation) to invite
a
further 6 people of their choice to a subsequent - second -
meal
scheduled for about a month later. Potentially, this project
will
continue into a third meal, with the 49 people from the
second
meal each inviting 6 guests. 70 x 7, the Meal acts as an
invitation for people from diverse backgrounds to reflect on
the
theme of sharing, to meet for a ritual occasion and to
multiply
these encounters infinitely. As a setting Act III uses a printed
-
expandable table cloth and 70 meal kits. Each kit contains
7
porcelain plates, glazed with the image of an artichoke heart -
a
symbol of friendship and sharing.
