A
tiny monitor in the exhibition space seems to show a live
observation (surveillance) of the toilets of the
Kunstraum.
However, the monitoring in the toilet turns out to be an
observation of a photograph of the toilet. Instead of
observing
live images from the toilet, the visitor, when looking into
the
monitor ends up video and audio taped, and broadcast onto
a
monitor in another, separate space, where his or her reactions
are
observed by other visitors. The installation works on the
border
between awareness and the desire of collective security.
It
oscillates between aggression and harmlessness.
