The sudden sound of rain draws attention to a room that is completely
closed off except for the narrow gap of a door. There visitors become
aware of a fine drizzle. The smell of the wet untreated plank floor, the
fine rain, the sounds of drops of water, and the enclosed character
of the interior trigger a variety of emotions and associations. The
colourful umbrellas by the door and their use are an intrinsic part
of the work.

Fragile, 2000
"Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum"
Innsbruck

Several layers of colorful industrial plastic bands enscribed with
the word "fragile" are wrapped by hand around the columns of the
cloister in the interior courtyard of the Volkskunstmuseum. The
contemporary situation (wrapping with industrial bands) mirrors
the simiarely colorful and handcrafted works characteristic of the
Tyrolian region that are on permanent display inside the Museum.
